This is attributed to the polyphenols called catechin found in green tea, which is an anti-oxidant that is twice as powerful as resveratrol found in red wine.

The first signs of aging are seen on the skin, and green tea protects the skin from sun damage and promotes the production of collagen, which brings back the lost firmness and elasticity to the skin. People with skin infections such as psoriasis have also been benefited with this wonder beverage.

One of the most important aspects of green tea is its contribution to weight loss, which is a huge issue in the world today. Research shows that men given a combination of green tea and caffeine burned far more calories than those who were on caffeine alone. But since the caffeine in green tea is much lower than in coffee, it is not harmful.
